Top NBA Prospect Leaves School
James Wiseman, center for the university of Memphis, is foregoing the rest of his tenure at the university of Memphis to prepare himself for the NBA draft. Before this school year Wiseman was investigated for accepting improper benefits from Memphis head coach Penny Hardaway who at the time was a Memphis alum & booster, he paid $11,500 to Wiseman’s mother to move them from Nashville to Memphis, TN. The NCAA at the time said he was eligible and could play but right before the NCAA basketball season started they informed Memphis & Coach Hardaway that he would likely be ineligible but Memphis decided to play him anyway. Memphis filed a restraining order against the NCAA which allowed Wiseman to play, then the order was dropped and Memphis ruled Wiseman ineligible to play but able to return to playing on Jan 12. Since then, Wiseman has left the University of Memphis all together to hire an agent prepare for the NBA draft.
Do you think he was long for leaving his team high and dry?
