KISS Cancels Meet-And-Greet Events Due to Coronavirus Concerns
KISS becomes the latest artist to make changes to their touring plans due to the coronavirus.
In a statement from KISS manager Doc McGhee (per Blabbermouth), “Our Meet and Greets have always offered us and you, our fans, a unique opportunity to literally stand shoulder to shoulder together. After many discussions with experts in the field, we have been advised to temporarily cancel these events given the reality that we do this nightly for a hundred or more fans. Shows will continue as scheduled and we look forward to resuming our time with you backstage.”
A number of rock tours and other events have either been subject to postponement within the last week. Whitesnake, Slipknot, and Green Day have all postponed upcoming tours in Asia, where the coronavirus first spread, within the past week. Some events, like SXSW in Austin, TX, have been outright canceled due to the concerns and spread of coronavirus in the United States. Per The New York Times, there are currently at least 539 cases of confirmed coronavirus across 34 states with a total of 22 deaths.
