NC Based LabCorp Recieves Approval For At Home COVID-19 Test Kits
So this morning, I saw some news that seems like big movement in the COVID-19 battle. It also brings up more questions for me. Labcorp made this announcement this morning.
We received approval from @US_FDA to perform #COVID19 tests using an at-home collection kit. These kits reduce the need of #PPE used by healthcare workers. Initially, kits will be made available to frontline healthcare workers and first responders. https://t.co/X4XQmHDxRN pic.twitter.com/vKsKucclif

I’ve seen a few posts of people setting up shop and charging between $50-$100 for drive up tests. Now, if Labcorp just recieved and EUA from the FDA, then what type of testing kits did these individuals have? That’s what I’m wondering. Either way, frontline healthcare workers should be able to get tested at a moments notice anyway! Either way, I guess we are on our way to another step in the worldwide pandemic.
