Limited Waste Pickup Resumes Today
Today, Monday April, 27,2020 solid waste services will resume. They will begin collecting yard waste as a result of the recent storm along with beginning yard maintenance for the season. Regular garbage and recycling will continue to be collected as well.
Unfortunately, this is a one-time collection sweep until the order is lifted. Residents in need of this clean up will have to put their yard waste at the curb until it has been picked up. Due to the lack of employees, collection throughout the city may not happen this week.
In honor of social distancing, the city Solid Waste Services has altered their procedure and schedule as well as temporarily stopped non-essential services such as curbside collection of yard waste and bulk items. Recycled items must be in the designated cart and cut or torn into manageable pieces. Home quarantine items must be double bagged before being placed in the garbage. If you receive recycled services there is a county app, Geoportal that can provide you with the collection schedule for your area. For more information regarding waste service for the city, you may send an email to curbit@charlottenc.gov or call 311.
