Atrium Health May Have A Possible Treatment Breakthrough With The Coronavirus
It was the beginning of a new decade and life as we know it instantly changed. It has been 4 months since the year began, and the world has endured a traumatic and dreadful epidemic of COVID-19. The disease is very contagious and fatal. Nations across the world have been taking the initiative to decrease the spread and possibly find a cure.
Here in the U.S. officials and health care workers have been working non-stop to battle this outbreak with intense treatment and traditional medical supplies. Discovering the proper treatment will enable the necessary effective response to defeating this infamous illness.
Carolina Healthcare System Atrium Health has developed a possible treatment for the Coronavirus in their most recent study. Researchers have come across a drug called Selinexor that seemed to have killed the virus during lab testing. Healthcare officials are familiar with the drug and have been used as a part of other treatments.
Atrium is currently looking to test this treatment. Doctors are seeking up to 2 patients that have been diagnosed and are in the early stages of the illness. These patients will be subjected to taking the drug for a total of seven days over the course of two weeks. Atrium is 1/15 health centers in the world participating in this study. Hopefully results prove to be positive and the world can carefully recover from this horrid pandemic.
