Black Girl Magic: 14 Year Old Earns Master’s Degree

Congratulations to 14-year-old Dorothy Jean Tillman of Chicago. She just earned her Master’s Degree in Sustainable Science and Environmental Planning from Unity College. At an early age, Dorothy’s parents knew she was a prodigy. She was talking at eight months, doing advanced math at four, and took online high school classes at the ripe old age of nine-years-old. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Humanities from Excelsior College two years ago.
Tillman now plans to go into Environmental Engineering and her advice for others trying to make it through school she says, “it doesn’t take a genius…it just takes dedication.” #BlackGirlMagic
