Mecklenburg County Has An Increase in Postive COVID-19 Cases
This is not the way we want to be going, but the fact of that matter is, our number is growing and we need to do something about it.
Reported today (6/16) Mecklenburg County reported another increase in the percent of positive cases making the number now 11%. “Right now, they’re not trending in a good direction, but we still want to give this more time,” Cooper said. Last week, the White House’s Coronavirus Task Force mentioned Mecklenburg as a county of concern in North Carolina.

This truly doesn’t come as a shock to me, since I have noticed so many people not wearing face masks and packing breweries, parks and department stores since our Phase 2 reopening. Governor Cooper says he’ll make an announcement about the next phase on (6/26) but I have a feeling, we won’t be moving forward any time soon. If Phase 3 is permitted, our North Carolina gyms, bars, salons, department stores, and restaurants whole be allowed to regain full capacity.
At this time, it is important to remember the three W’s to help decrease the number of coronavirus cases in our area. These three breast practices include washing your hands, wading six feet away from others, and wearing your mask in public.
