Nicki Minaj’s Husband, Kenneth Petty, Wants Name Off Of Sex Offenders List
NEW YORK, NEW YORK - FEBRUARY 12: Nicki Minaj and Kenneth Petty attend the Marc Jacobs Fall 2020 runway show during New York Fashion Week on February 12, 2020 in New York City.
Nicki Minaj’s husband, Kenneth Petty, wants his name off of the New York’s Sex Offender Registry; he claims that he never had a chance to fight the charge, according to new legal documents obtained by TMZ.
Petty is suing the State of New York and its Criminal Justice Services division to have his name removed from the sex offender’s registry, because he claims he never got notice of a hearing about it back in October 2004 while he was incarcerated, per TMZ.
According to the legal documents obtained by the outlet, the hearing offered an opportunity to challenge the risk level assigned to him, and he was categorized as a level 2 sex offender at the time but Petty claims he never actually got the hearing notice due to an address mishap.
Petty claims the notice of the hearing was sent to an address where he didn’t live because he was incarcerated at the time and the “Kenny Petty” signature located at the bottom of the hearing was not his own and an act of forgery.Petty also claims that the person who answered the initial hearing notice said that he would not be attending and according to the new suit, he never got the constitutional right to challenge the risk level assigned to him.Everything surrounding the legal woes of Petty, he claims he has suffered humiliation and financial loss. After being arrested last year because of failing to register as a sex offender per TMZ, he ultimately wants his name removed from New York’s Sex Offenders list.
