Plane Crashed On The Edge Of North Carolina Summer Camp
Thursday, June 6th brought an interesting and frightening day in the NC mountains. A single-engine plane crashed on the property of a North Carolina summer camp. Three people were transported to the area hospitals after the plane went down. The aircraft went down in the woods at the edge of Camp Kahdalea on Thursday, June 16, according to the Transylvania County Sheriff’s Office. The call to EMS came in around 6:23 pm Thursday.
None of the camp staff or attendees were in the area where the aircraft went down. The single-engine Cesena plane crashed in a remote wooded area on the edge of the camp boundaries. The passengers of the plane do however have ties to the camp. It is believed they were parents doing an aerial flyer of the grounds.
The Transylvania County Sheriff’s Deputies have secured the scene and the Federal Aviation Administration will be responsible for investigating the crash.
