J. Cole and 21 Savage will join Burna Boy on his upcoming album I Told Them… The 15-track album is set to debut on Friday (August 25). In addition to the “A Lot” collaborators, the LP will also feature Dave, Byron Messia, and Seyi Vibez.
So far, the album has been led by four previously released singles: “Big 7,” “Cheat On Me” (feat. Dave), “Talibans II” (feat. Byron Messia) and “Sittin’ On Top Of The World” (feat. 21 Savage). The song J. Cole will appear on will be “Thanks”; a snippet of that song has been shared online. This is Burna Boy’s first collaboration with 21 Savage and J. Cole. Cole and 21 previously collaborated on “A Lot” which earned the two rhymers a Grammy for Best Rap Song at the 2020 awards show.
Burna Boy spoke about working with J. Cole and how his demeanor created a comfortable work environment.
“The truth is often hidden, but when you come across it, and you are a person of truth yourself, you can’t help but recognize it,” the ‘Last Last’ artist said per HipHopDX. “You know what I mean? That’s really the story of me and J Cole. It’s like, I recognize it.”
Another potentially huge album is also reportedly dropping on Friday is Drake’s For All The Dogs. Drake just partnered up with 21 for their collab album Her Loss last November. Drake and J. Cole have previously worked together on “In The Morning” and the North Carolina rapper previously teased that the two will link up again on his album The Fall Off.
Drake teased that the album would drop soon when he told the audience during a July 26 concert, “Make new friends. If you drink, drink some liquor. If you smoke, smoke some weed. And if you like somebody, like my dad says, keep f—ing. I will be back soon. I have an album dropping for you in, like, two weeks or some s—. But until then, just know, you’re always with me and I’m always thinking of you. Everything I do is for you. Every time I step in that booth, I hope I make you proud.”
