Dishin’ With Debbie – Pierogies Zuppa
There’s almost nothing better in the crisp fall weather than a good warm bowl of soup. So, I thought about taking this edition of Dishin’ With Debbie in that direction. Of course, we all love chicken and dumplings. And, we enjoy a good hearty, creamy broth based soup. But, how about combining the flavorful broth of an Italian sausage soup and using Mrs. T’s Peirogies as a “dumpling?” I thought it was actually brilliant when I saw it on the Mrs. T’s website.
And, I loved it even more when I saw how simple it was to prepare. It’s the perfect dish to prepare ahead of time during those busy work weeks. It makes a lot. So, it’s great to just have a big pot in the fridge to dish up all week long. And, it sticks to your ribs while not being super heavy. The flavors are amazing. And, Mrs. T’s Pierogies simmer up soft and pillowy. Then, it’s an amazing addition when you bite through the pasta pocket to discover the fluffy whipped potatoes and cheese inside.
