Are you a dessert person? I am I love dessert. Here is a list of the restaurants with the best desserts. The way I judge, if I frequent a restaurant, is by their dessert menu. I can love the food but if the dessert is ain't hitting I am not coming back too often. You do not have to be in a five-star restaurant to have a five-star dessert. As a matter of fact, most five-star restaurants have desserts that suck.

Best Restaurant Desserts

Steak 48 is a five-star restaurant in every form of the word. Steak 48 has five-star desserts to match their five-star food. After spending a billion dollars on the meal, I was ready for dessert time. My favorites at Steak 48 are the popcorn sundae, the red velvet cake, and the buttercream cake. These desserts are so delicious. Mmmmm MMMMM I can taste them now.

Outback Steakhouse a not-so-five-star restaurant is up there when it comes to dessert. The food at Outback is very decent but that dessert is on another level. If you like a good brownie and ice cream nobody beats Outback. The dessert to have is the Chocolate Thunder from Down Under. When I tell you that this dessert is one of them ones it is one of them ones. A close second at Outback is the Salted Carmel Cookie. Next time you visit Outback make sure you get one of these.

Chili's used to have my all-time favorite dessert. I say used to because they took it off the menu. I cried. Chili's used to offer the Paradise Pie dessert. Every bite was good. It was a specially made brownie with ice cream. Chili's still has good dessert just not Paradise Pie good. They have a cookie skillet dessert that is a good time, and they have Chocolate Molten cake with ice cream that is good.

My favorite right now is Leroy Fox. Leroy Fox not only has the best chicken in the city they also have my favorite dessert. Leroy Fox dessert menu is not extensive however everything on the list hits well. On the list is a banana pudding, apple pie, and my favorite a Toll House cookie skillet. Oh my my my it sure taste good to me!! I will hit up Leroy Fox just for this delight.

If you're anything like me then you're a sweet kind of person. I love desserts, sugary treats, and all of that all the time. My sweet tooth is beyond strong and is always calling my name. Whenever I am craving something sweet, it's pretty hard to determine what I want. From cookies to ice cream to baked goods, they are all so good. But, being from South Carolina there are some treats that are just a staple for us to know.

Taste Atlas is giving us the three most popular South Carolinian desserts you should know. These are three, but I know there are a few more to add to this list. My aunt has taught me many things and baking some of our favorite recipes that have been passed down is one of the best things. If you do not know any of these treats, then you are missing out. Check out some popular desserts famous in South Carolina that you 100% need to know.

Huguenot Torte

A favorite from Charleston is the Huguenot Torte treat. This is a baked apple and pecan or walnut pudding cake with crispy meringue topping and served with whipped cream. Taste Atlas says this is a pretty recent recipe for the Charleston base.  The recipe first showed up in the 1950s in a cookbook and began to blow up shortly after.

Benne Wafers

Now this is a great one for sure! Benne Wafers is a traditional American cookie coming straight out of Charleston. Made up of a great combo of butter, sugar, flour, eggs, baking powder, and benne. Benne is the Bantu word for sesame seeds. They are a cookie dated back years and years and are now a treat that tourists can enjoy when visiting.

Lady Baltimore Cake

Now, this may be a new one for me. The Lady Baltimore Cake is Taste Atlas No. 1 South Carolina dessert. I have personally never heard of or had this which is kind of crazy being from Charleston. This famous cake was created by two women who ran Charleston's Lady Baltimore Tea Room. The cake is several layers of white sponge cake and a rich marshmallow-like frosting mixed with chopped nuts and dried fruits.
