Drake Calls Yasiin Bey A ‘C—head’ Amid Beef
Drake is continuing to add fuel to the fire amid his beef with Yasiin Bey. Bey (formerly known as Mos Def) became a topic of discussion during the We Love Hip Hop Podcast. Clips from the podcast episode went viral on social media when Toronto rapper/music executive Kofi “Friday” Carmichael told a story about Bey’s past. Carmichael claimed that back in 2005 when Bey was under the influence of an illegal substance he married a woman he just met.
According to Carmichael, Bey and the unidentified woman met backstage during a festival in Toronto while the rapper was on an ecstasy binge. They hit it off and in that same weekend they got married.
“I’m not gonna say anything about who the shorty is ’cause I’ma stay respectful, but he met a shorty out here and she wrapped his mind up,” he said. “And then before you knew it, [wedding bells], right to City Hall.”
The Toronto executive claimed that the information he gave is public knowledge. The story is told in the book Breaking the Code of Silence, by Alana Wyatt-Smith. The author was a video vixen in the early 2000s.
Bey and the woman eventually filed for divorce two months after the wedding.
Drake, whose beef with the rapper began this week, saw the Instagram post commenting: “Bohemian Bucket.” In Toronto, “bucket” is slang for “crackhead.”
How Did Drake & Yasiin Bey Beef Start?
Drake and Bey are at odds due to the Black Star rapper’s recent comments.
“Drake is pop to me,” he told Recho Omondi, the host of The Cutting Room Floor, on an episode that was released on Wednesday (Jan. 10). “In the sense like, if I was in Target in Houston and I heard a Drake song, it feels like a lot of his music is compatible with shopping. Or shopping with an edge, in certain instances.”
He did, however, not 100% bash Drake, saying that the Toronto rapper’s music is “likable.”

Bey’s diss, however, did get a response from Drake, which the rapper posted on his Instagram Story.
“What umi say again? Lemme shine my light king don’t change up now,” Drake wrote, referencing Bey’s song “Umi Says.”
