Fantasia Throws Star-Studded 90’s Birthday Bash in Charlotte

Fantasia has been on an extreme high lately. Fantasia just threw a star-studded birthday bash to celebrate her 40th birthday. Fantasia is coming off her Oscar-worthy performance as Celie in the movie The Color Purple. She picked up an NAACP Image Award win for the movie. Fantasia was just recently honored in her hometown of High Point North Carolina with her own day. The month of June hits and it’s time to celebrate the queen’s birthday.

Fantasia celebrated in a huge way. The 40th birthday party was just that, a damn party. The party was held downtown Charlotte at the illustrious Vue Condos. The party was in the Sky Lounge at The Vue on the 50th floor. Yup in the sky. The party had a 90’s theme and guests did not disappoint.

Some guests dawned Bad Boy gear the label that P Diddy started. Other guests dressed in bamboo earrings in a tribute to LL Cool J. The queen herself Fantasia killed the game with her rendition of Left Eye from the group TLC. She entered the party as Left Eye and it was up from there. Fantasia told the people put your phone up and let’s party.

Fantasia got the party started and the guest list was crazy. She first introduced her band and DJ. The band and DJ Shaun Nyce played 90 hits to get the crowd ready for what was about to happen. What happened next was a moment in history. The biggest 90’s female rap star appeared. MC Lyte grabbed the mic and ripped through all her hits. Fantasia even lent her dynamic vocals to a few songs.

Just when you thought the party was over here comes one of the biggest R&B groups of the 90’s. Brownstone was in the building. The full group was there, and they hopped on the mic and performed all their hits. Yea Yea, I know you like damn that is a dope party. Well, guess what the party was not over.

Fantasia had to rep for the Carolinas. There is only one way to do that at a 90’s theme birthday party. You call the guy who was the first to put it down for North Carolina. Petey Pablo draped in a Fat Albert FuBu sweatsuit grabbed the mic and set the party on fire.

This party was one of them ones. This was a party fit for a queen and a time was had. Happy birthday, Fantasia!!

Fantasia to Receive Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame (10 of Her Greatest Hits)

Neicy Nash and Jimmy Jam were 2 of the celebrities on hand to announce the newest entertainers to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.  Busta Rhymes, Nia Long, Sherri Sheppard, and Cortney B. Vance are a few of the members of the Hollywood Walk of Fame Class of 2025. Prince, who passed away in 2016 at age 57, will receive a posthumous induction.

In addition to that, the Carolina’s own Fantasia is getting a star.  The award winning singer, actress, and author took to social media to share the exciting news saying in part, “Little girl from High Point, NC, made it to the Hollywood Walk of Fame.”

After winning American Idol in 2004, Fantasia’s dropped her debut album “Free Yourself”. Her debut single, “I Believe,” debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Her single “Bittersweet”, from her 3rd album “Back to Me”, scored her her first Grammy. In 2005, Fantasia released her New York Times Best selling autobiography, “Life is Not a Fairy Tale“. From 2007 to 2008, she played “Celie Johnson” in the Broadway musical “The Color Purple” and reprised her role in the 2023 film adaption. Fantasia is the 3rd “American Idol” to be honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
