Fans Say Lil’ Kim’s Wildfire Prayers Missed the Mark
Lots of celebrities are jumping on social media to share love, prayers, and good vibes for everyone affected by the LA wildfires. Recently, Lil’ Kim took to X to send her thoughts and prayers to those dealing with the devastating fires in Los Angeles.
“Been sending strong prayers up for LA and everyone affected by the fires. This is heartbreaking. I pray to Jesus that God make it monsoon in LA,” Lil’ Kim posted. She also added the hashtag “#PrayForLA.”
While Kim’s message came from a good place, the internet had thoughts. Social media users on X were quick to respond, pointing out that her wish for a monsoon (aka a massive rainstorm) might not exactly be the best solution to the fires. Some people thought her post suggested that one disaster could replace one disaster with another.
One person joked, “Avoiding your prayers [Prayer hands emoji].” Someone else added, “It’s important to note that the high school Kim attended is no longer open. God is Good.”
Others showed some love for Kim’s good intentions. “I get what she was trying to say but this is wild[Laughing emojis],” one user commented. Another suggested, “Next time skip that last part, but we feel you.”
Meanwhile, CBS reported that the fires in the LA area have been devastating. So far, at least 25 people have died, more than 12,000 buildings have been destroyed, and over 60 square miles have burned. As of January 16, the Palisades and Eaton wildfires are still raging, and officials are preparing to share updates.
