Coronavirus Vocabulary: What is Social Distancing?
Concerts, sporting events, clubs, restaurants and bars….EVERYTHING IS CLOSING!!! While you may be disappointed, you are gonna have to get over and start practicing SOCIAL DISTANCING!
Social Distancing is the practice of deliberately increasing the physical space between people to avoid spreading illness. You know the saying “Bag Back, give me 50 feet”? Well yea…That’s really a thing now. Not exactly 50 feet though. Experts say staying at least 6 feet away from other people will lessens your chances of catching the Coronavirus.
Other examples of social distancing include:
• Working from home instead of at the office
• Closing schools / Virtual Learning
• Using FaceTime, Skype, etc. to visit loved ones
Can I still go to the grocery store? Can I visit my friends? I need to go to the gym!
Look, there is no Social Distancing Handbook and it may be tough. However, Social Distancing is necessary to stop or slow down the spread of the Coronavirus.
If you absolutely must go out, avoid crowds, use home delivery services, do at home workouts. Continue to practice good hygiene by washing your hands frequently and avoid touching your face (specifically your mouth, eyes, and nose.)
Let’s all do our part and practice some Social Distancing. Stay Safe Nosey Neighbors!
