If You’ve Filed For Unemployment Here Is The Latest Of What You Need To Know
People are getting laid off from work or hours are being cut short due to the Coronavirus. As of yesterday, there have been 250,992 claims filed for unemployment due to COVID-19 in NC. Which is crazy but at the same time I don’t blame anyone at this point.
Here’s some good news for those of you who have filed for unemployment. According the the NC Dept of Commerce, If you filed for unemployment, payments will be sent out starting April 4th through July 31st. It will take about 10-14 days after filing to receive your payment. Also, there are weekly certifications that go out that need to be filled in order to get your payment.
The first payments for unemployment claims related to COVID-19 will start going out this week. We are working hard to get this assistance out to workers & their families and will continue to push for more state and federal help for North Carolinians.https://t.co/BZfiANl6sV pic.twitter.com/nW5hTRbURF
