Jaden Smith Slated To Play Kanye West In Showtime Series
Jaden Smith will play a young Kanye West in a new Showtime anthology that West is developing.
The alternate reality anthology is titled Ominverse and is a limited half-hour series “examining the many doors of perception.”
The first season explores ego through Kanye West’s alternate reality. The series would be the first anthology to air on Showtime in years.
Ominverse will be West’s first television series. The rapper and producer will serve as the anthology’s executive producer alongside Scooter Braun, Lee Sung Jin, Smith, James Shin, Scott Manson, and Miguel Melendez.
“I’m honored and thrilled to be collaborating with everyone involved to present an alternate world through the eyes of a young man somewhere in the multiverse who happens to also be a Kanye West,” said Lin. “Omniverse is not set in our world nor about our world’s Kanye West as we aim to add a new spin on alternate realities, consciousness, and push the limits of half-hour narrative.”
