SAN RAFAEL, CA - OCTOBER 30: A bucket of KFC Extra Crispy fried chicken is displayed October 30, 2006 in San Rafael, California. KFC is phasing out trans fats and plans to use zero trans fat soybean oil for cooking of their Original Recipe and Extra Crispy fried chicken as well as other menu items. KFC expects to have all of its 5,500 restaurants in the U.S. switched to the new oil by April 2007. (Photo Illustration by Justin Sullivan/Getty Images)
Eh, I don’t know how I feel about this one.
Are you a vegetarian? Colonel Sanders will soon be serving vegan fried chicken to customers. KFC will start testing plant-based fried chicken from Beyond Meat in an Atlanta.
Beyond pulled its vegan chicken from grocery stores earlier this year in order to improve the formula. The Beyond Fried Chicken will be cooked in the same fryers with chicken.
Well, the test market isn’t far away from us here in Charlotte, so if you decide to take a drive let us know how it goes. You can see more on the product here.
