The number of new innovative vegan choices in food is slowly growing. We have the Impossible burger, and now it looks like Little Caesar’s pizza is next!

Little Caesars has teamed up with Greenleaf Foods Field Roast to introduce a “Planteroni pizza.”  The new pie will feature plant-based pepperoni and will launch in Detroit today.

The company says the pizza delivers an authentic, bold pepperoni taste. They explained how it is “crafted with fresh spices, including whole pieces of fennel, cracked black pepper, garlic and paprika.” The company also said their “planteroni” is the “first pepperoni alternative to be made with pea protein, rather than soy…” It’s also “non-GMO and made without artificial flavors.”

Would you try Little Caesar’s “planteroni” pizza? Do you eat plant-based meat?
