Amazon is warning customers about two prominent Black Friday scams making the rounds.
The first is an email that appears to be from Amazon itself, warning that your account might be suspended and asking for personal information. The email is a fake and could contain harmful attachments.
The second scam reaches out to Prime members by phone or text asking them to confirm or cancel services – again, it’s a trick to try and get personal information like bank account numbers. The holiday shopping season brings “increased risk” of fraud, a company spokesman warns.
