Could A New Merger Bring Six Flags To Charlotte?
Get ready! A new merger will bring Six Flags right here to Charlotte. I’m sure you’re wondering will we have Carowinds and Six Flags?
Carowinds has been in the news quite a bit lately due to the viral video from the Fury 325. The Fury is a coaster at the park. A video was shared by a park visitor of a cracked beam in the frame while the ride was going. The coaster was closed for months in an effort to fix it. After the new support beam was ordered and installed, there was something that caused the fix not to pass inspection and continue being closed. After months, the ride finally reopened.
The parent company of Carowinds is called Cedar Fair and is based out of Ohio. Six Flags is based out of Texas and the two companies have merged. With this merger, the company’s headquarters may get moved to be based out of Charlotte. This could bring additional jobs to the city and I’m sure this would mean a possible expansion of the park. Six Flags has a ton of rides and this would amplify revenue if they did this for sure. Can you imagine if the Carowinds we all have known for years grow even larger into something we have not seen yet before? This could be HUGE!
