Taco Bell Will Start Paying Some Managers $100,000 Per Year
If you’ve ever thought that working in fast food was beneath you, this might change your mind. Taco Bell is phasing in a program that will pay some managers of their corporate-owned stores $100,000 per year. The fast-food chain’s general managers usually earn between $50,000 and $80,000 a year.
Taco Bell is also providing at least 24 hours of paid sick time per the calendar year for all company-owned restaurant employees. These changes could be aimed at attracting and retaining good employees. With unemployment levels currently at a fifty-year low, that’s been a challenge for many businesses.
By the way, Taco Bell isn’t the only fast-food restaurant to offer six-figure salaries. The average pay for managers at California-based In-N-Out Burger is now more than $160,000 per year. The privately held company has been paying its managers $100,000 and more for at least the past ten years. Suddenly, life at the drive-thru looks a lot more appealing, doesn’t it?
