Can The SIAC Replace The CIAA In The Carolinas?
If you thought the CIAA moving to Baltimore meant the end of HBCU basketball in the Carolinas, I have some good news for you! THE SIAC IS HERE!
The SIAC (Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) basketball tournament has landed in Rock Hill with 14 HBCU’s bringing you action-packed basketball.
Albany State University, Benedict College, Central State University, Clark Atlanta University, Fort Valley State University, Kentucky State University, Lane College, LeMoyne-Owen College, Miles College, Morehouse College, Paine College, Spring Hill College, and Tuskegee University are playing at the brand new Rock Hill Sports & Events Center in downtown Rock Hill. Games only cost $10 and area students are FREE!
I had an opportunity to catch the Miles College and Savannah State Univerisity Game last night. Miles College walked away with the win (85-64).
Today you can catch, Morehouse, Clark Atlanta, Central State, Savannah State, LeMoyne-Owen, and Tuskeegee in action. The women’s championship game goes down on Saturday at 4 pm and the men’s championship game is at 7 pm.
So here’s my question…Do you think the SIAC has the potential to replace the CIAA here in the Carolinas? Head on over to my IG page @heymsjessica and let me know.
