Lil Nas X Named GQ’s “Musician of The Year”; 48 Pictures of the Superstar Over The Years
The awards just keep coming for Lil Nas X. The rapper was just named GQ’s Musician of the Year. “There’s going to be so many gay rappers,” said Lil Nas X to GQ. “Ten years from now, everything that I’m doing won’t even seem like it was shocking.” According to Jeremy O. Harris, Lil Nas X has “changed how we do what we do, and who gets to do it, forever.”
Also in the interview with GQ, Lil Nas X discussed the features of his “Montero” album. “I don’t usually ask for features like that. But for every feature I did ask for on this album, like, every single one of them worked…besides Drake and Nicki [Minaj],” Nas says. Lil Nas X wanted Nicki Minaj on “Industry Baby” and Drake for “Dolla Sign Slime” but he seems to be taking it all in stride as he believes everything happens for a reason. “Yeah, but you know, I feel like things always work out,” says Nas X. “I’m not sure how comfortable Nicki would have felt with that video or whatnot.”
