Indiana Student, Kristen Hayden, Becomes 1st Black Woman to Win National Diving Title

Indiana University student Kristen Hayden has become the 1st Black woman to win a U.S. national senior title in the USA Diving Winter National Championships. Hayden and her partner, Quinn Henninger, reached the milestone in Monday’s mixed synchronized 3-meter competition. Hayden, who recently transferred to Indiana, earned scores of mostly 7.0 and 7.5 to help propel her and her partner to a final tally of 286.86, beating the competition by three full points.
