If you are planning to visit someone in a healthcare facility, this is something to know beforehand. Another North Carolina hospital announces visitor restrictions. More and more hospitals across the Charlotte area are temporarily restricting visitors. Because there has been an uptick in Covid-19, the flu, and RSV.
According to our source, the Charlotte Observer, Novant health has asked kids 13 and under to stay home and not visit any of its hospitals unless there is a special circumstance. This new visitor restriction starts December 19. Dr. David Priest from Novant Health tells the Charlotte Observer, “In all of the communities we serve, we are observing an increase in flu, COVID-19 and RSV cases,”. His quote continues from the Charlotte Observer, “We appreciate the community’s help in taking extra care when visiting our facilities this respiratory virus season as we work to protect our patients.”
Novant Health has not reinstated its mask restriction. Visitors are not required to masks. Novant Health is not the only facility with restrictions. Atrium Health has reportedly announced temporary restrictions as well. Their restrictions apply to kids 12 and under. For more information on restrictions at Novant and Atrium healthcare facilities, get details from the Charlotte Observer.
