R&B Singer Tank Says This Is Why He Came Out Of Retirement

R&B singer Tank says this is why he came out of retirement. He has been in the music industry for 20 years but decided to retire in 2022. That did not last long as today he has a new album out (The Vault), a top-charting single "Before We Get Started", and is on a 25-city tour. It certainly didn't sound like someone who was ready to call it quits in the music business. In fact, that is how I opened our Zoom call (see below), I asked what all the talk of 'retirement' was about. I wondered because this is a man who has put out 10 albums, and 7 number 1 singles. His R&B Money album, which dropped in 2022, was supposed to be his last project before retiring. Being a veteran in the music industry, Tank has seen a shift in the landscape shrink, not to mention the outlets for R&B and Black Music have decreased. This is what sparked a light in Tank, so he decided to create his own platform. He created the R&B Money Podcast which has gained quite a following. With nearly 300K subscribers, Tank's podcast is his next chapter. He says it gives him a way to invest in the future of R&B.   He's making the 'investment' in other ways, too. His R&B Money Live (formerly known as Tank and Friends) and other ventures give R&B artists a platform to promote their music and build their own careers. Tank has just kicked off the R&B Money Tour with Keri Hilson and Carl Thomas. The tour will hit Charlotte on June 11, at the Belk Theatre. Get more information HERE. https://youtu.be/6liwlByt_YI
