Diploma or Hair Cut?
DeAndre Arnold’s a senior at Barbers Hill High School in Mont Belvieu, in southeast Texas.
He was recently Suspended from his high school because of his hair. DeAndre has dreadlocks that come to his shoulders and was told from his principal that he’ll won’t be able to walk across stage to get his diploma if he doesn’t cut his hair. Arnold is an outstanding student who has never been in trouble.
When he got the news that his hair had to go because It doesn’t fit in with the school’s district dress code It was shock.
Arnold goes on to say “It’s girls that has longer hair than mine, and they wasn’t told to cut their hair, why do I have to cut mine”.
Arnold story was so shocking to others that Ellen Degeneres gave Arnold a 20,000 dollar scholarship, and that Gabrielle Union wants to feature DeAndre in her new film that she producing called Hair Love.
Looks like Arnold will have a new journey in life.
