Popular Wilmington Pizzeria Making Its Way to Charlotte

If there is one thing that I love and cannot get enough of, that’s pizza! Pizza is my all-time favorite dish and I can eat it just about any time of the day. I love fresh, authentic pizza with fresh ingredients. Just thinking about it as I type is making me hungry. Chefs kiss!

The Charlotte Observer reports that the Charlotte pizza scene is about to get a little bigger. That’s right, another pizzeria is coming to Charlotte and clearly, I am excited about it. Wheelz Pizza, a popular pizza spot in Wilmington, North Carolina will be coming to Charlotte at the Kings Shopping Center in Cherry. It is the same location that was once a Pizza Hut and now turning into Wheelz to offer more delicious pizza for delivery and carry-out options. Do you live close by? If so, lucky you!

Wheelz Pizza serves Neapolitan-Brooklyn style pizza to its customers. They are offering some of the freshest ingredients to include on top of your sourdough crust cooked to perfection! Seriously, I am starving just thinking about it. Some of their featured menu items include:

  • Buffalo Chicken Pizza
  • Chicken, Bacon, and Ranch Pizza
  • Three Cheese Pizza
  • Supreme Pizza
  • The Wheelz Club Sandwich

Two North Carolina Cities Named in Best Pizza Cities List for 2022

Are you a pizza lover like me? Could you eat pizza for any meal, any day of the week? I most certainly could, so why not wonder which cities around the country have the best pizza? I prefer to think of it as expanding my pizza knowledge. In every city, I visit I  am almost bound to try their pizza, but now with this list, I want to specifically go where the best is. Fortunately, two North Carolina cities made the top 25 so I  guess I won’t have to travel very far.

Any Time Estimate gathered some information to determine some of the best pizza cities across the country. From Chicago deep dish to New York style to everything in between, the best of the best is on this list. With more than 78,000 pizzerias across the country, this was no easy task to determine the top spots. Taking the 50 largest metros in the U.S. they were able to determine the top states. Using information such as pizza variations, cost, residents, reviews, and more they were able to rank the states to find the best. See which two North Carolina cities made the list and where they fall! I even went ahead and found some hot pizza spots you should check out in each city. It’s pizza time!
