New Pizza Shop Coming To Belmont, North Carolina
Belmont, N.C. has a flourishing downtown area. There are so many different restaurants and shops on Main St. and just off Main St. For years the only pizza place in the downtown area was Johnny B’s. I went there lots as a friend of mine was the manager. Great pizza and cold beer! Sadly it closed in 2021.
A new pizza place is set to open where Johnny B’s was in the next few weeks. According to The Charlotte Observer, Stone Fired Social is set to open soon, next to its sister restaurant The String Bean.
Stone Fired Social will offer pizza, homemade pastas, sandwiches, garlic knots and more. There will also be a gelato counter and an area with arcade games. The new restaurant will offer seating for about 100 people.
Chad and Katy Hutcheson and Nate Helton, co-owners of The String Bean. If you’ve never been, a great place! The food is awesome and they have some great beers on tap. They decided to open a new place and they realized the local community missed a pizza place downtown.
To learn about pizza, they went to New York and did research and went to pizza school. They’ll offer a standard selection of pizza toppings and they’ll have specialty pizzas. The Hulk Smash Pistachio (pesto, ricotta, mozzarella, pistachio and roasted garlic) and the Red Corvette Red (sauce, pepperoni, spicy salami, mozzarella, hot honey drizzle) are two of their special offerings. That Red Corvette pizza sounds yummy!
The restaurant plans to serve lunch and dinner, and will be open six days a week. I’m looking forward to the opening! I’ll definitely try some of their specialty pies.
