Mayor Vi Lyles Celebrates World Census Day
Today is Census Day! Your existence matters more than anything right now. In the previous weeks, you have been certain to receive mail or emails asking you to complete the 2020 census.
The census is a headcount required by the constitution that the government does every 10 years to determine healthcare programs, congressional representation, educational and community funding, and infrastructure. These recordings will determine how the government will support individuals locally for the next 10 years.
As of today, only 36% of Americans across the nation have completed the census since the initial invitation about 3 weeks ago. We are strongly urged to respond to the 2020 census even while quarantined online using a Smartphone, desktop computer, laptop or tablet. You may also respond by phone in English or 12 other languages provided. For more information regarding your count please visit https://2020census.gov/en.html
Even Mayor Vi Lyles participated in World Census Day in a great way! Check it out.
