5 Tips For Mommies Adjusting To Work From Home Life
Working from home is now a new normal for a lot of people including me. I’ve even seen some companies such as Twitter, Blue Cross, Nationwide, and more are pushing their employees to work from home on a permanent basis.
I am currently working from home as a lot of my counterparts are. This is done to further enhance social distancing. Working from home has its ups and downs, but I’ve found a few ways to help cope and make it better.
- Do everything you can to structure a schedule. – If that includes you waking up, getting dressed, and even beating your face, then do it. Sometimes we can fall in a rut and it will cause us to not want to do our best. Some of those ruts start with not getting out of our pj’s.
- Make time for yourself. – In creating this schedule as somewhat described in tip 1, you must do the best you can to add in time for yourself. Even if its sitting on the front porch, do what you can to make time for yourself. I have a 3 year old and an almost 13-year old, so it’s not always easy for me. I’m still homeschooling the little one and helping the oldest with his work, all the while working myself.
- Double down on your business. – This could be anything. If there has been a business idea that you have wanted to do, take this time to figure out the ins and outs of that business avenue. Trust me, it will change your life. Figure out apps that will benefit you in your new found business and more.
- Make pre-done meals and place them in the freezer. – This may sound small to some, but I’m telling you its a big help. I will season meat and freeze it. When I take it out, it’s super duper seasoned and ready to go. I also will make vegetable soup, and freeze half of it. When I take it out, I can unthaw it, dump it in the crock pot on low a few hours before it’s time to eat and boom! We are in the game.
- Create a workout plan. – Listen! This was the best thing that I could have done. I still get up around 6am each day if not earlier. I go downstairs while everyone is still asleep and get a workout in. I feel much more refreshed during the day, and it helps my body. I’m a diabetic and this quarantine/work from home life can cause a weight gain for sure. So sticking to a plan will keep you right and tight. Also use the time to figure out snacks that work well for you and work well for your diet. This will also be a big help too.
I hope a few of these tips help you. I will be sharing more, along with other projects that you can do at home as well. Hope you enjoy!
