This Delaware State Trooper Changing The Lives Of Children One Basketball Shot At A Time
CARACAS, VENEZUELA - APRIL 28: A basketball court alone and under lock at the "Fe y Alegría Las Mayas" School located in the slum of the Mayas of the parish Coche during the second month of quarantine in the Country on April 28, 2020 in Caracas, Venezuela. Due to the government-ordered coronavirus lockdown, students in Venezuela will have to attend classes remotely until the end of the school year on July 10th. In most cases, teachers connect with their students daily or weekly through e-mail or social media. Online education is a challenge in a country with a very unstable and slow internet service, frequent power outages and low-income households where parents lack of time to spend teaching their kids. When I first saw this video go viral, I kept thinking that this was another way to bridge the gap between law enforcement and our communities.
We’ve seen that right here in Charlotte with Shawn Corbett, owner of Lucky Spot Barbershop, and his Cops and Barbers program with Sheriff McFadden. Bridging that gap is a big leap in helping our youth stay on the right path and on to securing a positive future.
This particular officer, Joshua Morris, has been in his community being a complete angel for a long time. He is a family man and serves his community because he wants to truly do God’s work and change his community for the better. Recently, he was out on patrol and went to the basketball court and showed the kids his moves. The moves were excellent, and one young man filmed and became the ultimate hype man.
This video went viral in a matter of no time and it’s no secret that this officer is on his way to changing communities in a major way. Check the video out below of what he did for the young King that made him viral.
