Here Are 12 Ways To Make Flying Easier
If you are a frequent flyer, and even if you aren’t, here are 12 ways to help making flying easier.
I recently flew with my children to Florida. Flying wasn’t a major hassle, but any additional assistance would have been helpful.
-
- 1) Arrive early – This should be a given. You can download the TSA app to help keep an eye on times if you don’t have TSA pre-check and/or Clear.
- 2) Download airline app -n Just like I mentioned the TSA app, download the airline app. You can access boarding passes and add them to your wallet to make boarding easier.
- 3) Book a morning flight – Most people don’t want to travel in the morning. That doesn’t always mean it will workout, but it’s usually less busy.
- 4) Go for non-stop flights. I hate layovers. I’ve only done it once in my life and will never do it again.
- 5) Prepare for delayed flights – With a lot of airlines and airports having staffing issues, you will be more likely to experience this. Get snacks and have chargers for you and your travel companions.
- 6) Pack smart with carry ons- Once my children and I had to layover in Atlanta. Our connecting flight was cancelled and we were stuck. Luckily I packed just in case items because Delta accidentally sent our luggage to our final destination.
- 7) Prepare checked bags for issues – The previous tip tells you why this is important. Don’t pack medicines and other things you need in your checked bags.
- 8) Be smart about seat choice – If you know you will be in a rush, choose a seat close to the front of the plane. If you need more leg room, choose seats that give you that option to be sure you’re comfortable.
- 9) Credit Card benefits – A lot of times card holders have priority boarding, on board benefits and more.
- 10) Negotiation skills – You never know when this may come in handy. Seat upgrades, in flights snacks, and more.
- 11) Travel insurance – With Covid and so much more looming, your travel plans could get altered or cancelled quickly. If you’re traveling international, this is perfect in case you get sick while out of the country.
- 12) If you don’t have to fly, don’t.
